Spiritual Mother Poem by Christina Simmons

Spiritual Mother

Great mother earth the woman who suffered giving birth to me
It was not an easy task to bore: labour wasn't without toil but you
Persevere eventually brought forth into the world - introduced me to this vast open Atmosphere; present when I took my first step - with a struggle and a smile I did it
Oh, mama-mama-mama-mama-ma.....

Mother dearest mother I do love you - put you first above anyone: my best friend
I really do rate you, hail you supreme because you are whom you are
Even though there are times I show lack of patience: shrug your shoulders for you are my best friend
Come hold my hands - cradle, gently rocking me too sleep whilst singing a lullaby
Oh, mama-mama-mama-mama-ma.....

Miss you so very much, our long chats on the phone; were not always nice I guess, There were other mundane stuffs occupying your mind: love you all the same
On my own striving to reach the top of the tree - though you're not here to hold my hands
It's OK! If I should stop to look behind - stumble I'll stand up again
I must never give up because you never gave up on me
Oh, mama-mama-mama-mama-ma......

Spiritually special you are holding, not letting go of my hands mother dearest mother; fighting on too make you proud: I know you're smiling down at me
Never losing hope - you wanted nothing but the best for me - I'm giving you my all
For I do love you: to me you mean everything, the answer to the missing puzzle
It's crucial that we remain friends, never breaking the chain which bind us together
Oh, mama-mama-mama-mama-ma.....

So special so very special battle on till my last breath - reassuring me every once in awhile
Be my guide for you are my guardian angel - an entity never living my side
I trust - and have faith in you; without your guidance I'll always feel lost be there for me
Days when I feel alone - like a small infant I breathe deeply without fear for I know you're giving
Your sincere loving smile
Oh, mama-mama-mama-mama-ma.....

Genuinely with your words of encouragement - true to your words - I see written on your
Face, 'Come on child, you can do it! ' It registers: 'Yes I can'.
Oh, mama-mama-mama-mama-ma
