Spirit Of Poetry Poem by Leslie Alexis

Spirit Of Poetry

So many asks, “what is your muse? ”
They answer is simple this, I would not be refused!
I have decided that the spirit of poetry is for me!
And within my vessel, he finds his destiny.
Moreover, this spirit is a chameleon,
Being neither woman nor man,
Neither plant nor animal, small nor grand.

So there you have it, within me, lays a poetry lion,
Kitten, bunny, and cute little mouse too,
Some days he goes wacky, and becomes a kangaroo.
At times he would be gentle, like a masseuse at best,
Or a bomber jet’s pilot, causing much unrest,
But when I love him most is when he is the sea,
Then my second favorite is when becomes a tree.
