Space Behind The Door Poem by Katherine Rhodes

Space Behind The Door

My Love is standing at the door
requesting to come in,
and so the space behind the door
is full once more.

There is a stranger at the door,
requesting to come in,
But the space behind the door
can hold no more.

The space behind the door
is filled with hopes and dreams,
and that hope behind the door
will be forever more.

Now my love is standing at the door
requesting to leave me.
And so the space behind the door
seems empty once more.

Again the stranger's at the door
requesting to come in.
'Sorry, the space behind the door
can hold no more.'

I'm sure I know what you mean... I'm just not sure you said it as well as you intended. Doors are metaphors, and you have used it methaphorically, but the imagery is more consistent with a heart. Intriguing!
