Sounds Of Suburbia Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Sounds Of Suburbia

Rating: 5.0

Sounds of suburbia

the crazy mad drone of a bee

the cutting of summer lawns

a woman's screams
of pleasure

wafting out of an open
window

as daises
& buttercups

lose their heads

your head
thrown back in an

agony of ecstasy

a smile
flitting across my lips

Suburbia is what you make of it, like most other things, and Donall you make even suburbia synonymous with heaven on earth!

I like the lyrical beginning 'Sounds of suburbia / the crazy mad drone of a bee'...The word suburbia is quite interesting by itself; 'suburbia': wide open windows, drying fresh washed lingerie, woman's screams... a smile flitting across my lips
