Sorry That I Lied Poem by Anton Asukile

Sorry That I Lied

Rating: 5.0

You were too smart honey,
asking too many questions!
That I couldn't help to lie,
so i wouldn't hurt you!

I woke up one morning,
so weak so seek i felt!
I was sober but vomiting,
my friends called an ambulance.

Exactly about eight months later,
you came healthy on Earth.
I grew you up from the same business,
and truly never known, who was your dad!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is a story of a woman who has been a sex-worker for years and without her plan she conceived. She did not know which man among those she served impregnated her. She got her baby and since at the baby's early ages, the baby has been asking her on where the dad was. The woman would lie to the baby that the dad has travelled abroad and would come back one day. But this day she decided to tell her baby the truth that she never known the dad.

This is a story of many women in our cities through out the world, and it keeps repeating to many more even tomorrow.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

A true tale of many bumpy beginning that many times give birth to great individuals as it is never about how we start but how end.
