Sorry Poem by Casey Gochnour

Sorry

Woe is my heart for the tears it releases,
Not broken apart, I still have all the pieces.
But oh, how it weeps for this woman I’ve done wrong,
Hear me as I try to keep my voice strong.

I feel it bottled in my chest, the feeling of regret,
Blamed her for it, it seems and yet,
Know now that I am at fault, I made the mistake,
I just pray for our hearts to no longer ache.

I’m pleading for your forgiveness, I know you said you’re fine,
But reading between the lines, pinpointing sign,
I just want to be sure, I want to do what I can,
I don’t have a plan… I just want to be your man.

Please don’t be upset with me, I need you, it’s true,
All day I’ve felt this, this reaction so blue.
Please savor our love and give me a kiss,
Because we’ll need to overcome greater things than this.
