Sorrows Poem by Tayyab Ijaz

Sorrows

I am just a speck of dust
My sufferings are so intense and pains so deep
That I feel an injured soul within me
I can't show off these scars nor relate my pains
For I have no one to share or to trust upon
I wake up with tearful eyes, work with mournful heart
And walk on the deserted paths
Wonderings why a truth being denied
OH! My soul mate, thy class is different from me
Here wealth is deity to be worshipped
Corrupt are dignified
Greed, lust, obscenity are virtues
I am hopeful towards Good God
That the soon an era will start
Where these standards will be changed
Justice, knowledge, diligence and integrity will reign
And our class will not be detested
