Sons Of Sea And Salty Air Poem by Calico Jack

Sons Of Sea And Salty Air

Rating: 4.7

I saw a starlit melody
in the sky,
above the sea.
The somber tune,
from sunken graves,
echoes up
to reach for me.

The moon of voyages long past
thunders 'round,
this song comes last.
when life is gone,
and spirits pass.
Hear their call,
death's parting blast.

Poseidon's sons now rest in peace,
moved only,
by shifting tide.
Their mortal lease,
reverberating,
gone are they,
beneath the beast.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I was in class and the mood struck me, nothing serious here folks, just a guy not paying attention.

P.S. A comment or rating would just about make my day folks. It truly would.

Enjoyed the read, set a thoughtful melancolic mood with subtle force. You might enjoy, through horizons door, a mutinous sea poem. Captain Cur
