Sonnet: Turning Points In Life Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Turning Points In Life

We gave you two the best of learning chance,
And you both did what you could from your heart;
Yet, you both missed some steps in life's fair dance;
One writes exams like quite a perfect art!

Life has some turning points that we approach,
Or else, it takes us down the other roads;
Avoiding guilt and welcoming reproach,
We take on various types of tough workloads!

But never blame surroundings for failure;
We must take life as it comes up to you;
Admitting faults, we try to find a cure;
Success is but at arms-length for you too!

Small failures open mighty success-lanes;
In life, you turn to boons even the banes!
Fondly dedicated to my loving daughters,
Cathy and Diana
