Sonnet To Forever Love Poem by Nancy Crossman

Sonnet To Forever Love

Rating: 5.0

From the moment we met,
It was as if stars collided in the universe.
My world had forever changed
With the cosmic upheaval
Of which you were the source.
There was nothing about my life before you,
That could have prepared me for the impact
Of your soul touching mine.
Your heart reached out to me,
And I was powerless to resist
The beautiful, sensitive, charismatic you;
We were lovers, destined to become friends.
The powerful bond we have forged
Nothing can break apart!
You are the part of me I most adore.
You bring out the very best in me
And I love who I am when I’m with you.
Years have passed, and dark waters
Have flowed beneath the bridge we built together.
We have weathered vicious storms,
Climbed mountains when we could not see the top,
Never once doubting, we could face anything
As long as we held on to each other.
Life’s twilight is before us now,
The innocence of youth a memory.
And the radiance of our love
Will light our path as we continue forward.
We may stumble, but we will not falter,
For the foundation of our strength
Is the perfect love we have nurtured
Like a beautiful flower garden,
And it will carry us into eternity.
I love you!
