Sonnet: To Dear Dad On Father’s Day,2015 Poem by Dr John Celes

Dear dad, I think of you today with joy;
You’re my role-model when I was a boy;
Your wisdom, knowledge filled my heart with awe;
Justice and fairness were things you stood for.

’Tis hard to equal your simplicity;
Your policy was always honesty;
You struggled rearing us to dizzy heights;
In thoughts of many kinds, you spent the nights.

Dear dad, amazing was your piety;
With talents much, you also were witty;
You kept your cool when things went wrong for you;
Your speaking skills, we saw in just a few.

Today, you seem to live on Father’s Day!
Like you, we children do their jobs and pray.

Dedicated on behalf of all my siblings
