Sonnet: Hell On Earth For Upright Souls Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Hell On Earth For Upright Souls

To live an honest life in a lying world
Is hell to righteous persons, ardent souls;
You cannot straighten dog’s tail natural curled;
Most upright sacrifice their aims and goals.

’Tis tough to live a straight life ’midst corrupt;
Corruption glows both day and night to all;
Like volcanoes, some scams at times erupt;
Into the abyss and ravine, most fall.

Many heads rolls when caught by laws long hands;
You can’t imagine world corruption-free;
Corruption turns to marsh, arable lands;
The poorer poor are pushed to penury.

How human genome stays as such is strange!
But world can’t prosper ignoring the change.
