Sonnet For Unenlightenment Poem by Danny Draper

Sonnet For Unenlightenment

There lived a time when all sublime was sought
When all was new in bliss divinely caused
Agreeing well with what was always taught
Because the word was truth spake without flaws.
In time enquiring minds came to reason
Dismantling the vast unknown and they saw
A beauty greater than that relied on
Revealing truths universal as laws.
In time divine became sustained by fear
The love it spread relied on hate and dread
The old words without reason held no cheer
And those against it all preferred as dead.
Pandemic took humanity and worse
Manifested the Pest Bros. Bat Piss Curse.
