Sonnet For A Butterfly Poem by william savage

Sonnet For A Butterfly

Clutching leaf's protective vane
tiny eggs shun solar glare.
Hectic larva to pupa chain,
hatching soon without a care.

Hunger is the Caterpillar,
altering the garden scene.
An intrepid tummy filler,
changes to beauty queen.

What motif hath the butterfly
To attend a summer's day?
Could kind zephyrs give reason why
it zig-zags every way?

Enjoying a wondrous flight,
Creating mysterious delight.
