Sonnet 8 Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Sonnet 8

Rating: 5.0

Copenhagen is covered with ice cream parlor
his uncle had been the victim of glamor
fifty yards of linen for an arcade-gallery
the hunter pursued the red elephant breathlessly

in an envelope with longing vignettes
it was the time that Hitler gained for love affairs
a conversation in order to calm the anger
with the eyes of drowning girl in danger

on mountain where one feel the heartwarming twilight
he performed Schumann's Kreisleriana outstandingly delight
at the first glimmer of frozen sky
without taking his hands off the fire, he asked why
a boy ready to walk on the deserted town
who is brown-gown maiden that play accordion?
