Sonnet 3



One dark, dreary and dull earthly night
At the starry sky I sat down to stare
Not that admired I did the stars’ light
But to see which star like you was fair
But those rocky remnants weren’t pretty as much
And their declining light had no ethereal grace
For the stars’ beauty could never match
The refulgence of thy innocent human face
As the stars never did satisfy my desire
To admire thy lovely self I decided I should
For thy beauty, thy sweetness is higher
‘tis of a gracious magnitude
But will you be mine my princess fair
For with thine light into any darkness I can dare
