Songstress Of Night Poem by Ron Pate

Songstress Of Night

Hear the cherished songstress of night
Flying with stars shining bright
And within the moon's path
She flys, throughout my nights
Alight and sing sweet melody
And beautiful notes shall fill my ears
She is a minstrel of delight

Oh, sweet nightingale of the air
Rendering solace after despair
Awaiting my return after a days turn
Enlacing lyric in the breath of twilight
And silent she sits with day's anew
My vision, when I'm without sight
She's my cherished songstress of night
