Sonatina Oceania Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Sonatina Oceania

Rating: 5.0

(dedicated to Mr. Maxim Vengerov, a great violinist)

wilder seas
in olden times
ancient cultures
extraordinary clarity
attractive coastal area
of a landscape rarely seen
its being embedded so deeply
most challenging sailing routes
for your dream sailing adventure
flanks it by the long shorelines
the layers of the rich history
unique reason for a dream
drops across crystal clear
dive into blue expanse
of Poseidon's empire
sprinkled like pearls
savor the silence

(inspired by Katsushika Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa)
