Sometimes Poem by Silver C. Day

Sometimes

Sometimes your timeless plans
take violent turns
Sometimes your biggest smile
is the fakest yet
Sometimes the one you love
is really someone else
Somtimes each delightful laugh
transform into each painful tear
Sometimes your sweetest dreams
turn out to be your worst nightmares
Sometimes each small kiss
soughts out a stabbing memory
Sometimes your childhood beliefs
shrink to nothing at all
Sometimes your trusting friend
grows to be your spiteful enemy
Sometimes your self esteem
lowers to hating yourself
Sometimes when your on top
you fall straight to the bottom
Sometimes when life seems perfect
everything changes
Sometimes the people who promised to catch you
are the ones that watch you fall

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
John Knight 09 May 2010

Hi Silver - Love the YIN & YANG of theis poem and i am honoured to be the first to comment. The equilibrium we (generally) enjoy on Earth is amintained by a careful balance of opposites - hot & cold - black & white - male & female - rich & poor - happiness & misery etc. We accept this in the balance of our own lives and communities. SOMETIMES - however hard we try - our initial expectations are shattered and we get - bad not good - sour not sweet and hatred not love. We always cope by believing that tomorrow the opposite will happen. Please keep in touch and - if you have time - read soem more of my poems. Thanks for sahring - Yours through poetry - JOHN.
