Something Within Poem by Gina Marie Moody

Something Within

Silent fingers strum
a whispered melody
crooning deep within
a forgotten memory,
where sorrow sings so softly
persuading guitar strings,
tears flow in harmony,
felt but seldom seen.

Phantom lyrics haunt
repeating words unsaid,
hypnotic hollow humming
bleeds like rusted lead.

A familiar serenade
from origins unknown
has captured my essence
and guides this mortal soul,
to places once abandoned
and stories left untold,
a quiet ache,
deep within
that has taken hold.
