Something Hidden Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Something Hidden

I gaze into people's eyes,
And see their hidden despises,
And spurn them for
Whatever they've done to me.

Not seeing or hearing their laughter,
They laugh without smiling after,
I see no sense in reaching out,
To hear their calling voices.

I see his arms held out to me,
To give Shelter like a great big tree,
But there's something hidden behiind his face,
And I do not want to go closer.

Oh I knew those things before,
They were called love which came after war,
But now there is only war all over,
I don't think there is time for love.
