Someone Stood Waiting Poem by Josey Alfred

Someone Stood Waiting

Someone stood there waiting for me
I knew him not, but h’ knew me well
Soon I knew, he was my own soul!
He stood waiting, impatient he was!

He held a memo, just for me
That was urgent and time stood still.
I begged for time, just for a while,
To complete an urgent task at hand.

You are my friend, I know he said!
But this extension is ruled out,
For, I have no time to waste about,
For someone needs me now urgent.

I bid you by! My last few words
And I have to part, assignment new
I got to take a new babe now
Or else she will die a still born.
