Someday Poem by Juan Natal

Someday

I always had a someday.
I always felt there would be time,
To say all the things I wanted to say,
To have it all turn out just fine.
I thought there would be a someday
When you would truly understand.
I always thought I could find a way
To find my feet in the shifting sand.
But I now find that time is not my friend.
It flies away and steals the moment
When I could show my heart, and fend
Off the decline of knowledgeof what I meant;
Whether it be what I thought, or felt,
Or what I might say to show you
That my love is true, and it would melt
The ice that freezes our love, and we two
Would warm ourselves in the very truth
That we belong side by side, forevermore.
The oath I swore to you in my youth
Remains ever true, and is eternal in my core.
The fact remains, I love you, more than words can say.
I only hope that you will understand, and see that, someday.
