Some Guys Poem by Solene O'Brien

Some Guys

Coulda been the guy with tanzanite eyes
What the heck do you think could work
As a better disguise
Yeah, the same, he’s in my brain.
Coulda been the guy with the platinum hair maybe
How the heck did i let him get,
Straight to me
Yeah, forget his face forget.

Coulda been the time where i met him at a locker
Eyes on fire i was just a teenager
Fire. Fire.

Coulda been the boy with chocolate strands
I was just a baby with a boy, on my hands
We grew, in time
He wasn’t really mine.
Coulda been the reason i let it all out
Paranoia no disclosure what it’s really about
My brain. The same, they’re the same, it’s insane.

The boys are walking round the rain and sweat and girls are standing left wasted,
What happened to an innocent good time?
We’re all just babies, inside.
Teenagers. Teenagers.

Coulda been the honey haired guitar guy
Threw away my heart to the other side of
The universe
And it hurt, oh my life.
Could be this lateral logical being now
Eyes are grey and different,
Hair the sweetest brown.
Oh yeah, he’s always always here.
Some guys. Some guys.
