Somber Expression Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Sometimes I wonder if a poem should be written somber
A thought to wander in which the mind must now ponder
Written with feeling, alluring words, and heart stealing
Made up so somber for a heartbreaking feeling

Imagine such sadness brought to life by few words
The reason for reading what makes passions burn
Oh lead onward ye poet wherever daydreams arrive
Give life to the somber through rhythm and rhyme

Storms are now siring within a benevolent mind
A future is formed by the darkness inside
The dragon is breathing a curse to behold
Repeating the words that the poet has told

In visions are legends so frightfully real
A poet writes life from a curse they must feel
The mighty have written with tears in their eyes
Damned to suffer is a poet before the reader can cry

Broken are hearts in a victimless crime
Broken is the poet who writes every line
You can live in the world and look from, outside
The poet lives for the love of the stories they write
