Solstice Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Solstice

Summer Winds blow
heedlessly

I'm prostate
resilient
against its siren calls
Summers
I have seen
crowned
yet no summer
compares.

Am I to forget
all summers hence
and live herewith
only that summer then?

Yes its true;
cast by me Summer Wind
I am beyond
its warming blow
because mine
rises from within
not without.

Give your warm breezes
to those bereft
Mine is that
beyond mere Youth's Preen
beyond Narcissus' Mirror
is deeper still
beyond
Mere Wants;
it plums
to
those inner
needs
where wanting
matches
perfectly
perfect need.

This then
True Happiness
in youth and beyond
I and my love
waffling
there
beyond and above
yon
Summer Breeze
to where
souls live...
Many exhault
Summer Times
Few know too
Winters' Bliss
Springs' Flowers
Autumns' Palettes.

We do
my Love
our blessed
Hallow
our own
Summer, Winter
Spring and beyond
Solstices,
Come kiss me now
in both dream
and fantasy
Love Redeeming.
