Solitude Poem by Natalie Dirks

Solitude

Whene're the trouble and cares of life
Seem nearly too hard for me,
I wonder out to a quiet place
Where I can be alone.
Alone with the wind and its ceaseless whisp'ring
As it blows through the leaves on the trees
And there I find
A peace of mind
That no other place provides.
For God is in that quiet place
And there is solitude.

No matter where you roam, my friend,
That place is always there.
For God, He loves us each, you know.
He understands our care.
And though we wonder why He allows
These things to come our way
If we can only trust His love
On Him our burdens lay
We'll find that even through it all
There is a place of solitude.

(written on my 14th birthday)
