Solitaire Poem by Edwina Reizer

Solitaire

If I travel down the path
and I meet you there,
Would you stop and look at me?
Would you stop and stare?

Or would you pass me by and leave,
Leave me standing there?
My heart would stop its rushing beat
not knowing where

I'd ever see you once again
and if you'd ever care?
For finding you upon that path
is more than I could bear.

The path to love for only one
with no one else to share
is lonely and it's cold you see,
like playing solitaire.
