Softly And Tenderly Poem by Chris G. Vaillancourt

Softly And Tenderly

Rating: 5.0

I stayed awake, late one night,
anticipating your arrival.
Would we move as if
we had become one
body?

We embraced, in passion,
soaring to pleasures
beyond physical
melting our souls
into
one heart.

Softly, tenderly, I enjoyed
your presence next to me.
Lifting my smiles
to new
vistas of
contentment

Almost asleep, I reached out
to embrace you once again.
Softly, tenderly I whispered
your name in the room.

You were gone.
