Soft Remembered Dreams Poem by Steve Gregory

Soft Remembered Dreams

Soft was your smile
As you left through the door
As the wind touched your hair
And you said you'd only be a while
Soft was your caress
As you touched my face
As the wind rustled your dress
And you urged me to smile.

But now you are gone
And all that's left is
Hints of number five
And lip stains on the glass
And all I have is soft
Remembered chills as I
Look for your face to return

Soft was the breeze
As you blew through my heart
As you wound yourself in my soul
And you said you'd never leave
Soft was the touch
As you caressed my cheek
As I thought I saw the wind rustle
Through the last vestige of my dreams.
