Socrates
Conscious of his ignorance,
He never wrote.
He taught
Those who thought
They knew everything
How in fact
They knew nothing.
He cultivated
Both his body
And his mind.
He practiced what he preached
And needed neither titles nor awards:
He was simply Socrates,
The staunchest lover of Sophia.
He wasn't an Athenian,
But a self-disciplined
Citizen of the world.
