Society Poem by James Gibbons

Society

A chase, a race, life's illusions,
years make a difference?
Look at yourself, are you aware?
Who recalls what was observed?
Passing applause available for
recruitment, dressed in a suit and tie.
Who has killed a bull today?
Human race, buckets of waste
Chinese workers stole your job?
Slavery ended in 1864,
want to be one of them?
Soak the rich, pay the poor., who got fired today?
Lost your home?
Not enough pay?
So much food for thought,
comments, second thoughts.
Lady Liberty, where's my seat,
glad I purchased my final plot.
Please dispense with another treat.
It's good to have honesty on your side.
It's big government I can't abide.
