Soaked Dry Poem by Paul Klobusicky

Soaked Dry

SOAKED DRY

Saying words
My ears won’t funnel
Like raindrops
That can’t stick to window pane
I’m saturated
With pain

Where were you
In prior years
When I needed you
To quite my fears

Yours words rain down
Trying to cling
Like a clown
You had your fling

My heart isn’t a sponge
It can’t soak
A downpour of your love
You soaked my heart dry
Be advised
This heart won’t cry
