So You Feel Were You Born Poem by Francis Duggan

So You Feel Were You Born

So you feel were you born a horse or dog by now you would be put down
Believe me I also think in this way
That's how some do feel when time on them is telling
And they are decades beyond their life's prime day.

That's what happens when your life does not have highlights
Of to others that you'd feel proud for to relate
The biological clock on your life ever ticking
And you are almost at your use by date.

The Human World is only for life's winners
At least that is how it does seem to me
Big Brother and his disciples pigeon hole us
Though with what I say many would disagree.

The young of poor parents like all have their daydreams
But the ageing poor do not have time on their side
And the ageing poor cannot tell of any life successes
Which cannot do much for their sense of pride.
