So Shines The Light Of God Poem by Wakefield Mahon

So Shines The Light Of God

Picture
So shines the light of God,
That I am rendered blind
Blind to this world of material things
And leave my sins behind

I wish to be the brightest star
I mean no vanity
But only shining God's light
Through all eternity

Let all that is within me
Transform, become anew
Reform my fragile soul and mind
Into the image of you

My soul proclaims your holy name
My lips and mind shall do the same
Clear my eyes, unstop my ears
That I may see and I may hear
The whisper of your winsome voice
And know the truth to make my choice

The answers lie in the living God
Praised be His holy name
As it was in the beginning
Forever, still the same
