Sneak Preview Poem by Barry Van Allen

Sneak Preview

Towards new understandings of life,
in leaps and in bounds we are leaving home ground,
to find a new life in the stars.

Will the things that we find in the distant black space,
leave us lonely and threatened to face it ?
Will we find us alone as a flag on the moon,
with nobody present to see us ?

Will we find only rocks and see only sand,
forgetting our earth as a bird in the hand ?

As my years pass away to the future,
and increase in their number with weeks,
before I am done, at least I have had,
a tiny eye - opening peek!
