Smores Poem by Daniel Y.

Smores

Marshmallow meets soft and sweet
with a steamy chocolate bar

Warm feelings and memories
of fireplace stories
hung in morning dew

Close- cozy, red brick room
shouts back the crackles of ash
and wafts of wilted worries.

Heart and hearth beat and flicker
the bold cry to no ends
into the white solid distance

My dog lays below, in complete trust, and cares absent.
Dreaming of a cold salt beach, and a raw white bone.
