Smile Poem by Summer Song

Smile

Swimming through a sea of faces
Walking in a large place unknown
One small soul
anonymous in the chaos
of these people in the streets
Just a smile
Do you think they notice
That one small soul
Or is he just part
of their short term memory
He loves to be in crowds so vast
make eye contact with a stranger
and become just a little piece
of their whole life
Just a smile
In a sea of faces
That has no name
and no purpose
You saw him as you laughed, you glanced
in his direction
You kept smiling
as your eyes met
closed them and took
a picture
that only last a short time
It goes into your memory
is stored inside a room
each one with a clock ticking
down the time
till you forget
him
