Smile and the whole world will smile with you, they said
Smiling is contagious they pleaded
Pffa!
I’d beg to differ
If smiling is the answer to all our prayers, then why not just show our “pearly whites” in the direction of poverty and hunger? To all our problems.
Because its a lie.
Smiling is a weapon to hide what we really feel
The guilt, the dread, the remorse, so easily hidden by the pull of a muscle
Rather scary if you ask me
Smile and the whole world smiles with you?

Hide, and the whole world hides from you
