Smarter Bin Laden
Had Smarter bin Laden hit South or North Block,
He would still have been a hero roaming free in Pak or POK,
A few tiny squeals,
Not a thought of ‘Seals',
We would still have been saying we have no choice but to talk.
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
1. South and North Block are the two most important government buildings in New Delhi. India is governed from there.
2. Pak is short for Pakistan.
3. POK is acronym for Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
After 9/11, the US attacked Afghanistan and, finally, got Laden. India has faced many terror attacks, the worst being the one in Mumbai on November 26,2008. Yet, India has done nothing more than talk to Pakistan which, unpunished, continues to fuel terrorism. Our PM actually went to the extent of saying we have no choice but to talk to it.
