Small Light Poem by Mazak Naglootiuka

Small Light

It started as a small light,
a friendly glance, an unguarded half-smile,
with time, it grew bright,
feet together, left and right,
It grew as bright as the sun,
eyes locked - stand stilled in time,
It brightened quick, even the night,
purple clouds, moon in the smile,
The shadows disappeared,
we took flight

It shone then, too bright,
A question asked, no reply,
It dimmed fast,
The words were not right,
The shadows returned,
a reply came after a while,
The light went, the sun was back,

as I realized,
for a moment,
I had lost my sight
