Sloth - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Sloth - Lincoln Park Zoo

I am a sloth a hanging out
In style at the Lincoln Park Zoo.
Nocturnal - during day I'm 'bout
Doing a lot of naparoo.
The humans named me as two toed,
As number on each hand there be.
Humans did not count my foot load.
The toes on each foot number three.
Smart humans should know, one would think,
The dif'rence 'tween finger and toe.
But sloths don't want to cause a stink.
Humor the humans - doncha know!

If I were named accurately,
A two fingered sloth I should be.
