Sliding Into The Door Poem by James Onuska

Sliding Into The Door

Sliding into the door. Is there any hesitation. Let me take a brief go around.
There is no evidence. Why take it apart. It can't stop on its own. A full stop.
Let's get it done. Don't let me be a flake. Wake the unworthy. Have teeth.
Keep it to yourself. I want a full report. There is no binding to it. Keep the feet
Moving. Can I have a false start. It is coming out of the woodwork. I'm going
North this time. It resists the patterns. It has warnings. It has growth. Keep the
Two apart. Get carted off. It is non-stopping. I'm waiting for it to break off. Not
This time. Wake me up for the fine. It is fine all right. It is out of sight. Going to
Flight. Watch the weeds come up. You can't trick me off the grass. It has edges.
The shining top. Not resigning. Keep it stiff. There is no clinging. Wait till I'm far
Enough away. Reach for the stubs. I have a hard enough time. I'm begging. Reset.
What about the recent impressions. There is no image. All bets are off. Keep
Insisting. I hit the soft center. We have sayings in these parts. It hit a high note.
Water shed. I made a note to myself. Don't tangle. It makes all the right choices.
It is tame. Can I speak aloud. It blows my mind. Keep your chin strap on. Strap it on. Take the bugs off. Wind up. It is met with a fun nod. Cooler now. I'm not
Folding. We were fond of all of a sudden. It ends here. It got my full attention.
Play ball. Not that far away. Off the ground toadstool. We sowed the seed. Feed
Him all you want. Diffuse. Maybe it's the polish you wear. You won't want for
Anything. We had a play in it. Wink if you can. I'm bringing it up. It has a hard
Center. Play on words. I'm in a bubble. Fend while you can. Tie a knot.
