Slice Of Life Poem by Amy Sutton

Slice Of Life

A sunrise
A puppy
A night on the town
A lightsaber battle
A penny
A crown

Maltesers
Marshmallows
A broken settee
Alarm bells at seven
A lay-in 'till three

A teardrop
A secret
An unsaid goodbye
Mascara
Black stockings
A grimace
A sigh

A carpet
A forest
A nightmare
A theme
A tyre track
A river
A 'B movie' scream

A model
A mother
A joke that falls flat
The crunch of an apple
A cuddle
A cat

A snowflake
A bluebell
A leaf brown and red
A month by the seaside
A month spent in bed

A party
A promise
A paintbrush
A push
The sting of salt water
A mulberry bush

Adventures
And holidays
Lazy nights in
Games where you lose
And games where you win

A first kiss
A last kiss
A playscript
A dream
All served with cherries
And chocolate ice cream

this has a very sing-songy feel to it. And I read it as thus, or should i say I sang it lol. Anyhow I suppose each line is one piece of a very large pie(of life) .
