Sleep Poem by Emmanuel Adekunle

Sleep

I have no pen
to stay awake all nights
i have no light to flashback
the memories of the day
and write a fantastic saga
it's a bitter lemon
hard to chew or leak with the tongue
sleeping on my bed
and waiting for new ideas to come
to wake up in the morning
feeling as if i never slept
morning and night are my twin brothers
night embraces me to sleep
morning exposes me to pleasure
all in a day
days are now counting days
it's sleep that has ravished me
no more sleep only to realise
that i made this decision
in my dreams
