Sleep Poem by Nyaniba Kwenu Smith

Sleep

When the lids become heavy

and the eggs turn a shade of red

When images turn blurry,

and well pronounced words become nothing but muffled sounds

When legs suddenly lose the feel and turn terribly heavy like lead,

and shoulders, no matter how squared, fall

when focusing turns to mission impossible,
and balancing between consciousness and the converse seems almost incredible

When the past, present and future all merges to one confusing moment,
and all one can see is the bed, 'Le lit'

Then my soul Will say, silently to the world around,

and loudly to the me within

..........tis time to SLEEP!

THIS IS A MARVELLOUS PIECE OF ART …………………………………….. What a nice poem IT IS! Nice words have been used in the poem. The quality of the poem is in its flow, the texture of the poem is knitted well, the theme is fantastic, a very good image has been created. The another quality of the poem is its mystic music.
