Slave Of Emotion Poem by Doris Cornago

Slave Of Emotion

You must be laughing at me now

the way I laid my heart bare

but such an act is out of despair

knowing that you do not really care

I have taken out my heart on a vow

If you as much as look my way

I will cease this hopeless playing

At your emotions and take control

Of my own, go my way, be a man

Not a despondent slave of emotion.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
A man once told the poet that he cannot lose control of his emotions as he is a detached man. This poem is of another man who is the opposite of this man. Read the poem to know whether it is a thing you won't ever dream of doing.
