Sister Poem by moon dust

Sister

Sister, I knew her well
One of those girls always running and hiding
Scared and alone
Surrounded by people yet so far away
Was sister

She let me get to know her
She let me be her friend
So careful was I to be trusted, I grew to love her
Before I knew it my heart was busted
Into a million pieces, O sister

We spent lots of days dreaming of tomorrows
At times she'd laugh and play
Or cry for the hurts of the world
And I'd hold her and rock her 'till I eased her sorrow
Of the moment
O sister

She spoke of faraway places
She was happier that way
She danced under the moon
Sister, always searching for the brighter day
O sister

Sometimes in my daydream moments
She still gets to me, coming in my thoughts
With visions of drumming, and her laughter and things
But I have to shut her out
So far away, O sister.
