Sirensong Poem by Zaria Fallenrise

Sirensong

When a siren sings her sad song,
It means she doesn't belong.

The wind whispers her name
The Gods used her as a pawn in their deadly game
The seas consume her and burn her body with fire and flame
The Moon lost her daughter and nothing will ever be the same

The river made of her ashes and flow with her tears
The spirits wander around the shore, trapped thousand years
Dreamwalkers run away from their deepest fears

Her life was taken
Her soul was broken
Her voice was stolen
Her eyes were hidden

When a siren sings her forgotten song,
It means she doesn't want to belong.

On cool moonlit night
The skies were shining with stars bright
The water reflecting the moon's silver light
The siren's voice echoes in plain sight

The ocean was calm that day
The siren stares at me with eyes cloudy gray
I open my mouth to speak but I have nothing to say
When she finally swam away
She didn't return when the seas want her to stay

Down in underwater deep she couldn't be saved
Sweep away by the fierceful wave
Taken and trapped in a crystal cave
Drowning into her watery grave

When a siren sings her sweet song,
It means she wants to belong.

Falling tears from the skies
No one truly knows if the siren dies
Some hear the echo of her cries
Some saw her stormy eyes

When a siren sings her beautiful song
It means she wont last long,
All her life was gone,
But her angelic voice stays where she belongs…...
