Sinking Boat Poem by Abdul Wahab

Sinking Boat

Rating: 4.8

They all say
The house where I live

crushes down
or freezes out

other inhabitants
rushes out

but how I can move?

where is the shame
to die in which place

once I took birth
and sent deep

my roots
and where I place my foot

on every step
from childhood to manhood

here once I bloomed
hundred flowers

and proposed to my first love
and give birth to new leaves

from here I knew
how to sail out a sea

though my soul knows
very well that

this boat getting old
some nuts at joints

loosened and junked
and it will immediately sink

yet it wants more
as age is nothing

heart is repaired a new
like its childhood age

and it fears nothing
even to embrace death.
